The other day, I met another Beta Alpha Psi member at ISFFA Mock Interviews He was from the Cal State Los Angeles chapter. Of course the first question I ask is, “Hey, do you know Shane?”
His response was, “Wait…Shane Vera, the president?”
Me: “Yeah! He and I go way back.”
The small talk continued for a while. I learned a few things about him and the CSULA chapter. At the end of the day, he had asked if I could also talk to Shane about Beta Alpha Psi and Meet the Firms.
A few days later I was out to dinner with Shane and some friends. Shane had actually asked me about Beta Alpha Psi and what its about, and what I get out of it. I told him what I do, how I do it , and why I do it. At the request of the CSULA chapter, I also talked to him about Meet the Firms and how it is the accounting equivalent of a job fair, and that it should receive a little funding.
Jumping forward, I learned that the Beta Alpha Psi chapter at Cal State Los Angeles received funding from its student government to host Meet the Firms.
I had a very small role in that, but hey, small actions build up. Here’s to a successful year for the CSULA Beta Alpha Psi chapter, from CSULB.
